Fishing Guide

Fishing is one of the most common skills in RuneScape. This skill is included in the Members' and non-Members' community. It is used at almost all water-areas, and fish is what is used to heal your hitpoints along with many other foods such as pizzas etc. Fishing is one of the most common money-making skills , as well, and is quite easy once you get the hang of it.

For the start of fishing you use a Small Net for shrimp catching. Eventually you will hit level 10 Fishing! Once you've done this you're now able to use the Fishing rod. This is used for much bigger fish than shrimps, such as Sardine and Herring, which give much more experience. However, you will need to buy Bait for every fish you want to catch (this can be done in Fishings Stores -- located in places such as Catherby and Port Sarim).
Now, once you have done this for a while you will eventually get to level 16 where (Members) are now able to use the Big net! This is only for members, and you are now able to catch things such as boots, leather gloves, seaweed, caskets, Mackerel, and Cod. The casket is what these fishers mostly aim for and the items in it, after you open it, give any where from Gp to a Half Key!
Now that you have done this for a bit you should be aiming for level 20 fishing, where you are now going to be able to use the Fly Fishing rod. This Fishing rod is used for catching Salmon and Trout, and will give much more exp then the big net fishing. The bait on the other hand may be quite a journey to get, seeing that you need to buy Feathers or kill chickens for this Bait (which is, as you might've figured out, feathers).
Now you are ready for the Harpoon used to catch Tuna. These fish are good for training with and consist of Level 35 Fishing.
Now After your long journey and lots of patience you have finally got level 40 Fishing! You are now able to catch the lobster, this particular fish is perfect for money making and training, but has a requirement of 40 cooking to cook. These fish go anywhere from 100-200 Gold Coins each! And you can Note them in your bank account for easy selling and inventory space.
Now on, on, and on with more fishing until you've reached level 46, this level gives you the ability to fish the bass with your big net. This fish isn't all that great though and not a very good money maker. My advice is go with lobsters, seeing that they're easier to catch now, and they are easier to sell.
Well... Eventually you have hit level 50 fishing (aren't you proud ) and are now able to fish the Swordfish using the old harpoon. They also have the requirement of 45 cooking to cook them, but since you're 50 fishing you're able to catch lobsters much easier than these and lobsters are still more good for your money making. Also you will still catch the Tuna while attempting to fish a Swordfish.
53 is your next target and you will get the ability to catch lava eels (this fish is a members item) and it's also used for the Hero's Guild.
Now after your LONG wait and continous patience you have got 76 fishing and are finally able to fish the Shark! This item is a beautiful money maker and has the requirement of 80 cooking to cook. It is sold for 600-850 per fish! But my advice is to sell them cooked.

Now that you know the basics of fishing, get out there and get some of these wonderful sea creatures! There's a great RuneScape world for you to explore.

Depending on how lazy we are.)
