HistoryIt all began long ago. Before man walked freely on the plains of RuneScape, sometime during the First or Second Age; which it is is not very clear from the documents I have access to. They tell of the time shortly after the creation of this world. What the gods were up to during these ages is unclear, but the creation of the world most likely occurred in the beginning of the First Age, if not even further back. I will not even try to bring up why they decided to create mankind, but they did. Some say it started as an experiment out of boredom. A person was created. Of no sex. Later, a second one came along. But creating new life was a tedious process, so the gods wanted a way for it to be done "automatically." That's when they created the male and female gender. These were still just an experiment and they lived in a natural cage, unable to move out across the lands of Old RuneScape. The humans gave birth to two children, Abel and Caine. Since it was an experiment as much as any other experiment we have today, it was not perfect. Far from perfect, even. Caine grew jealous or mad at his brother. The gods who created the first two people (call them whatever you want, I have no names) didn't know what was evolving within Caine. Not until the day he killed his brother. The act of murder Caine had committed was not what the god (or gods, if more than one were involved in this experiment at this point) had wanted out of this. He was very upset with Caine, and to set an example for future children, he expelled Caine from this "cage" in where the humans lived. It is told that he was sent to the Land of Nod, where he was doomed to spend eternity alone. If the Land of Nod is indeed a completely different land, or just the outside of the "cage" in which Caine was born is not certain, but speculations say that it is what today is known as Morytania. Anyway, in the Land of Nod, he met an unnamed girl -- said to be the direct spawn of Zaros. This female had been granted more powers than the ones Caine had seen. She taught them to him, and he gladly accepted this knowledge. Selfish as he was, though, he left her once he thought he had learned enough.
The Second Generation Caine's three childer seemed to have inherited his powers, just a tiny bit weaker. It all seemed to run in his blood -- this knowledge has made us modern vampires refer to the clans as different Blood. These new vampires stood close to both Caine and each other, and no signs of Caine's previous anger was to be seen. They lived in secret in this "cage," that is now known to us as the First City, hiding from the gods. They were all cursed not to see the sunlight ever again, but this was not all negative. Being forced into becoming creatures of the night gave them little choice but to choose the darkness. The shadows helped them stay hidden, and this is also where they fed. Off of human blood. How Caine had turned the Three into vampires was unknown to them, but one night, when feeding, one of them discovered the secret as a mortal, whom had made a lot of resistance, injured him, causing him to bleed. A single drop of his blood landed on the mortal's lips, and he changed. Some say that this first vampire of the Third Generation was named Brujah, other say he was named Nosferatu.
The Birth of the Clans Nosferatu, who was "born" either first or second of the Thirteen, claimed that the fact that he was one of the first gave him more power over the others. There was no war in between the vampires at this point, but Nosferatu's superior way of acting threatened the peace, so he had to be punished. This is how he got his weakness. Appearance that made it impossible for him to show his true form to any mortal again. Malkav, who as a mortal had been full of knowledge and insight, kept his mental abilities into undeath. They only seemed to improve, and it's said that he saw something he was not allowed to see. Perhaps the future? Anyway, it is also said the Three tortured, beat, and finally maybe even cursed him for it. The Thirteen were as siblings at this stage of time, and this act against Malkav made them all rise up against their sires. It didn't end until all three of them were dead. Only six of the original 13 survived this battle, though. At this point, Caine realized that more than he had wished for had moved on with the Blood. Even his anger had been transferred to his childer. Ashamed of what he had created, he left the First City, and has never been seen since. Alone and without leaders, the six who remained of the original Thirteen grew more and more apart. They created childer of their own -- the Fourth Generation -- with the same weaknesses as themselves. With different stereotypes among each "family," differences were born, and clans created. One of Malkav's childer was Alexandro Dewore, I will get back to him later.
An Age of War By this time, the six clans had grown bigger, and even reached the Fifth Generation. The leaders of each clan saw the war between the god as a perfect moment to gain more power and influence for themselves. The selfish part of Caine that had been passed on through his blood was glowing bright. Vampires "lent" their blood to humans, granting them limited vampiric powers for the period of time they had the vampire's blood in their system. These ghouls, as they came to be called, were used as pawns against the other's clans. The war for power that started to grow among the Kindred made them forget to hide from the gods, and they were "discovered." The reaction was not all negative, though. The gods saw them as very useful tools in the war between each other, and the clans divided up into bigger groups (although, with big inner conflicts). But vampires didn't come free. They knew their powers, and they knew that they had a lot to say about their situation. There was, as you know, not one, but several, gods in the world, and none of them were all mighty. The natural cage had grown and started to break. It is said that it was located in today's Kandarin, but that is not for certain. And the other god's experimental beings came from the east. As they led war against each other, they also mixed, and the differences were to be taken out, creating one single human race. The war raged on for years, and the vampiric clans changed sides several times, but as the end of this age drew nigh, Malkav and his vampires ended up in the eastern parts around Asgarnia and Misthalin. During this time, Malkav's brother, who had also been turned into a vampire, was killed and diablerized by one of his own childer, forming a new clan -- the Giovanni. This clan scattered away from Malkav and his childer, and into the west, where today's Kandarin is located.
Alexandro Dewore The Sight made him lose all memory of his mortal life. He became one of the less useful childer of Alexandro. He was more fond of his grand sire Caine than he was of Dewore, and a distance to his sire grew. It did not result in anger, though. The last time they saw each other was peaceful. The nameless vampire then left with a group of travellers in the early years of the Fourth Age.
The Foundation of Varrock After his childe's death, the nameless vampire got into a depressed state of mind, which lasted for years. He did no longer participate in tribal conflicts, and with the loss of this hidden power source, his own party was overtaken by a larger tribe. He still moved along with this tribe, but sadness filled his body. Finally, he decided to get into torpor. This lasted for a long, long time, but one day, he opened his eyes in the cave in which he had stayed hidden. He moved out, destroyed the opening, and started wandering the lands. Only two or three days later he saw a village. He figured that it must be the result of the bigger tribe he was once in. They must've settled down, and this village had grown out of it. This was the village that came to become Varrock. The vampire decided to stay in the village, with easy access to food it was a good place for a drawn back, lazy vampire. He was still lonely, but chose not to do anything about it. Years passed by, and the town grew bigger and bigger. It became a center for merchants from all over the land to meet and trade goods. One of these caught the vampire's interest. The merchants name was Guwau Sethen. In his eyes, the vampire saw a glow that he had last seen in his own sire, Alexandro. Out of an impulse, he Embraced Guwau.
Guwau Sethen (However, Goow was not pronounced even remotely the same as the word it was taken from. That's when it was changed to 'g00w.' This removed all rules of pronunciation, and it was free to its bearer to decide.) This took place during the first half of the Fourth Age. G00w's sire was mainly out after the company of someone reminding him of the past, and for a while, G00w kept up with his life of a merchant. With the powerful blood of the Malkavians rushing through his veins, this didn't last for long. After about half a century, G00w had grown tired of life in security with his sire, pretending to be human and abusing his powers to get good deals with ignorant merchants from throughout the lands of Misthalin. The way he gathered his goods -- through combat -- became his true passion. He gave up his old ways of life, and became a holy warrior. Seeing his childe follow the same path that killed his previous one, G00w's sire could see history repeat itself and decided to leave. This was the last time G00w saw his sire, and he was left to his own devises. Over a thousand years passed, a time which G00w mainly spent bringing his skills to perfection. He travelled with human warriors, some of which were aware of his true nature and in exchange for blood protected their master. Out of paranoia that the warriors true nature as ghouls would be discovered by the other followers, he killed them after a few decades of service, introducing new ones into the flock of blood crazed slaves. This way of behaviour became a pattern in G00w's life, and it soon started happening purely out of routine. It made his morality plummet and he truly started succumbing to the Beast within. After several hundreds of years, he suddenly came to the conclusion that this couldn't go on. He went into hiding for over 200 years. A great discovery in the world caught his attention, though. . .this discovery was man made magic--rune essence. G00w went out of hiding, and the rest of the history is now . . . .
