Assist System
There are two ways to gain points with the Assist System. The first way is to help someone create an item they can't make on their own, and the second way is to give away XP using your own materials.
If someone is lending a skill in order to help someone else make one or more items they otherwise would not be able to make, the helper will receive 25 points (once per day and person) and an extra 50 points for every 15 minutes it takes to perform the task(s).
If someone is lending their skills in order to get XP when the lower level uses his or her materials, the person getting assisted will receive 5 points for every 1,000 XP awarded.
When posting an update like this, you must specify who helped who. If both players claim that they got helped, they will both receive 25% of the points they would otherwise have gained.

Guides
Another way to make points is to write guides and post them in the appropriate forum.
For a complete quest guide requires the following:
Requirements
Needed items
A walkthrough from start to end
Awards for completing the quest
For a complete guide of other nature (such as skill guide, area guide, or monster guide, just to give a few examples), requires information beyond that which you can get from the Knowledge Base. This might include thins such as appropriate equipment, XP per hour, etc.
For a quest guide, the author will be awarded with 200 points per quest point required, plus an additional 50 points per picture used (assuming they contributed with anything relevant).
Other guides will be awarded with 100 to 500 points, depending on usefulness and depth, with an extra 50 points per picture used (assuming they contributed with anything relevant). Before you get your points, each guide must have been commented on by at least two Sworn of Mysteries or Primogen, and their average "rating" will decide your points;
100 - The guide is very short and without much detailed information, and covers an area which is unlikely to get any attention (such as different places to kill hobgoblins).
200 - The guide is short and without much detailed information, but at least covers an area of some remote interest (such as the best places to kill a couple of popular Slayer creatures).
300 - The guide includes the basic and most necessary information needed, and covers a topic some people might get good use of (such as a complete list of the best places to kill Slayer creatures).
400 - The guide includes the necessary information, and then a bit more, and also covers a topic quite a few people will get good use of (such as a list of different places to kill all Slayer monsters and how much XP per hour they give).
500 - The guide includes just about everything you could ever want out of a guide of its kind, and it covers a topic useful to many (such as a complete list of all locations to kill different Slayer creatures, XP per hour, what equipment to use on what creatures, and drop tables).
