RulesMore and more people are joining the great Followers of Malkav. Some of those are barely just being able to stay, though. This is how it works, Malkav is a great vampire. Not just great, but the greatest (apart from Caine himself, of course, but he plays no part in the Jyhad). He is full of wisdom, and so is everyone of his Blood. Therefore, we cannot recruit people who do not fulfil what he stands for; wisdom. This is not a clan for low-lives (in the matter of intelligence). We are a part of the superior society of the Malkavians. We are not beneath any human. Although all of you are not vampires, I would be glad if you could at least act like one. So, to avoid that any of you people who joined the clan by "accident" (although I have full control of who you are), here are some rules to follow. Follow them to avoid embarrassing the entire clan and Malkav's great name. Follow them to show everyone that you are not to be taken advantage of. Follow them to get closer to the supreme state of a Malkavian. The ones who do not follow them will be kicked out, or otherwise punished, no questions asked. If you receive the max amount of allowed warning points for your rank (over a period of three months), you will be banned. If you receive any warning points during your on trial period, you will be banned. The warning point value of each rule is listed below the punishment (the one measured in clan points). Death means an immediate ban.
§1.x - General Rules
§1.1 - Don't follow any god other than Malkav (he is not a god in that sense, but he is more mighty than any of the gods we have in this land).
§1.2 - Don't use any kind of illegal products to raise your skills. That is like committing diablerie, and is always punished with Final Death.
§1.3 - Don't expect that you will get instant help if you're new to the clan. First of all, those of higher ranks will get help, because they have earned it.
§1.4 - Are you a Childe with a Sire? Then respect him. Show disrespect to your Sire and you will be put to a Final Death. This is unless he is not being a good Sire, but I do not pick bad Sires.
§1.5 - You shall not belong to any other clan than the Followers of Malkav. Doing so is bringing up too many problems, not to mention the extreme lack of faith you show through it.
§1.6 - The Inactivity Rule. A player is considered highly inactive if they get less than 300,000 total XP in a month. If you are inactive for three or more months within any period of six months (so, three inactive and three active, regardless of order), you will be kicked for inactivity. For cases on the edge (two months of inactivity), all other months will get a minimum requirement of at least 500,000 XP. This is to avoid that people just get 310,000 XP every month to bypass the inactivity rule. (This rule does not apply for Torpid FoM.)
§2.1 - Don't beg anyone (stranger or friend) for items. Asking is okay, but if he/she says no, respect that. Don't continue the begging, you will only end up looking pathetic, and I will kill you.
§2.2 - If you see a person with a valuable or rare item, don't see him as God. Don't start running after him, yelling moronic shortenings such as "Omg!!!!!!!!! Can u plz sho me!!!!!!!1" So what if someone has got a Dragon Shield? You're not even allowed to sink to this pathetic level if you so met Malkav himself. If you did, you would be the first to be put out of your misserable life.
§2.3 - Don't insult or provoke other member of FoM needlessly. Only call them an idiot or other if your intellectual as well as clan rank allows you to, and their behaviour clearly goes against the rules. Judging others is a work for the Primogen, though, so you should still avoid doing so (but there are exceptions when such is necessary). This also goes for insulting back if someone started off by insulting you. There is a pinned topic in the FoM Only forum describing what to do in case someone does insult/provoke you. Should this occur in public, the punishment will be doubled.
§2.4 - Are you of low age (compared to other mortals)? We don't start by judging by your age, but if you are around the ages of 15 and below, don't act like it. Constant creation of idiotic topics asking idiotic questions and teen cries for being treated poorly after acting like a complete moron will not be tolerated.
§2.5 - Never put yourself in the role of a Lord or a Primogen and start ordering others around, yelling at them for misbehaving. You are allowed to tell them that they have misbehaved, but the punishment is up to the Primogen to hand out.
§2.6 - Don't give out false statements about other clan members or yourself. Always speak the truth when confronted by a Primogen -- even if the truth may hurt, a lie will be far worse than that.
§2.7 - Don't be an annoying idiot. This comes down to your personality. If I think it's bad for the clan's reputation and simply pisses off the other members, you do best in figuring that out fast, because I will punish you based simply on who you are.
§2.8 - No unnecessary spam of the FoM forums. A few jokes here and there are appreciated, but several one-word replies in multiple topics over a short time-span is not. If you feel like you have to do that, do it in the other forums. The FoM forum is too active to have its topics pulled back because some pulse-having moron decided to post "lol" in 47 different topics.
§2.9 - If you are acting like an idiot and a Primogen tells you to stop, you will obey. The Primogen should not have to get in touch with me, g00w, to make you quit the stupid behaviour.
§2.10 - Do not cheat in clan events. Breaking the explicit rules discourages members from making more events. This includes even the simplest ones. If you attend an event, it is your duty to read through the instructions and remember them.
§3.1 - On official PKing trips, no conversations are to be held after we have hit level 35 Wilderness. Repetative or unnecessary comments are not allowed because they spark conversations and that takes the focus off of the killing. If you can't shut up, use Private Messages to conversate with your oh-so-important friends.
§3.2 - If the leader of a PKing trip yells "Stop!" then stop fighting whoever it is you were just attacking. It's most likely another FoM member who has come out to join the trip. All people who are to join in will be announced by the leader, so this shouldn't happen -- but, somehow, it still does.
§3.3 - If a person is leaving the PKing group, he will simply do so. I don't want to see 30+ people yelling "Bye," filling up the chat screen.
§3.4 - The Private Chat must be set to Friends and nothing else. And don't speak to people in other clans about our presence or the fact that we are PKing.
§3.5 - Always follow the leader, no one else.
§3.6 - Do not run away from the group to chase down a level 70 in iron legs and a mithril full helmet. The fine line on where to chase and not to chase goes around level 80 combat if skulled, 90 combat if not skulled. Or if the victim is wearing rune armour or better that will be dropped in case of death, or if he's an archer or a wizard (arrows and runes are always nice).
§3.7 - Never invite any friends to an official PKing trip, unless the leader of the trip thinks there is a great reason to do so (rarely happens). If you happen to have a friend who is On Trial, he/she can come along, but if he/she breaks any rules, he/she will be kicked.
§3.8 - Never backstab anyone. We are not evil, we are not good, we are neutral and we are honourable. This means that we may be killing, but we do so a way that is not evil. We do not turn on allies, we don't cheat, or any other thing that goes against our word. If you have agreed to PK with an outsider, then do so, don't backstab him.
§3.9 - Never talk to any outsiders about planned PKing trips or wars.
§3.10 - You must never cheat in a Death Match. Have you said you would fight someone to the death, you will. The only time you are allowed to leave the scene is if your opponent is cheating. Otherwise, stick to your word.
§3.11 - If you find two people in a Death Match, do not wait around for them to finish, and then kill off the winner. Such an act shows lack of respect and honour. Sure, some people are known cheaters and complete idiots, so it may be that it could just be worth the punishment -- but I'm officially against it -- if you are willing to sink towards their level of patheticness. Never ruin it for those who are honourable, though. (If you want to find these little "exceptions," just take a look in the Wanted list.)
§3.12 - Do not talk down to your victims unless they are doing so to you. Yelling "owned" and "n00b" is highly pathetic and behaviour such as that is embarrassing for the clan. This also goes if people are killing you -- don't call them "noobs." You are allowed to somehow state what clan you are in as you fight, though. But not by saying "FoM owned j00!!1"
§3.13 - If an FoM PKing group should run into any of your friends who aren't in the clan, don't yell stop. Anyone not in the clan is fair game, unless otherwise previously stated by the leader. So many members with so many friends makes it hard to avoid killing someone who is a friend of a clan member. If you don't want to kill your friend, simply don't attack.
§3.14 - If PKing with FoM, you are not allowed to log out from RS in sight of an enemy, even if that enemy is stronger than you. Stay and fight for your clan. If the leaders should call out retreat, then you may leave--but not log out, at least not until the enemy is out of sight.
§3.15 - This rule is similar to 3.14, only that it's about running, and not just logging. To make it extra clear, running away at the sight of an enemy is also considered abandonning your team. If you face a team of equal or slightly bigger size, don't just run away on sight. Stay and fight for your clan unless the leader of the trip states otherwise. You should know that sufficient rank allows you to get lost items back from the clan fund in case you die, so don't be a cheap bastard.
§3.16 - This is another version of 3.1. If the level happens to be below 35, or you are gathering for a PKing trip or war, and a Primogen tells you to shut the fuck up. Then do so.
§3.17 - You are not allowed to lure-PK. And by lure-PKing, I mean setting up a team who will wait at one spot, and have a lone PKer get a PKer or team of PKers chasing him to that spot, where the rest kill the chaser from a non-reachable location (such as the Agility Arena or Scorpion Pit). Apart from doing it at the Agility Arena, it can be seen as a strategy and there is nothing wrong with strategy in itself. But, this is a question regarding honour in battle, and for the sake of the clan's reputation, luring is forbidden. (More rules and instructions on how to behave and what to do in an official PKing trip can be found on the parts of the forum restricted for FoM members only. Take your time and read them when you have access to them.)
§4.1 - When you post a got/gave Update topic (in the Updates forum), you must state the name of all other people involved in the trade in the post. You may not put it as a topic description only (though it may be there, but must still be in the post).
§4.2 - You are not allowed to "bump" your topics in the Updates forum. (Bump meaning to post just to bring it up to the top.) Leave it where it is, an Updater will eventually look at it.
§4.3 - Do not attempt to claim points from killing other FoM members. Even if they are death matches or duels with stakes.
§4.4 - Never post updates where you have received or donated items to someone who is not FoM. If you are uncertain, look them up in the All, On Trial, and/or MTB Graduates list.
§4.5 - Never attempt to claim points for items you have been given by another FoM member.
§5.1 - It is your duty to make sure that a person you refer to the clan meets our clan requirements. A referral confirmation won't be valid unless you specifically reply with the following statement to the application:
§5.2 - Any rules broken by an On Trialist whom you have referred will result in Warning Points to you, as well.
§6.1 - When FoM has a full-out preparation war, it is mandatory for everyone to attend. The only exceptions will be granted those who are pre-occupied in "real life." This rule only applies when at least three months have passed since our last war.
§6.2 - If there is an event posted and pinned in the Events forum and it is organized by a Sworn, and it has been posted with an at least six-day notice, you must respond and let us know if you will be attending or not (or if you're unsure). The important thing is that you respond to make it clear that you are aware of the event. The only valid excuses not to do so are if you are a Retired FoM, if you have made a formally correct inactivity topic stating that you are away, or for reasons beyond your control (such as losing your Internet connection without any prior notice). On Trialists are directed to the On Trial forum rather than the Events forum.
