Sworn of the Axe - Information

The Sworn of the Axe's duty lies within the martial domain. They hold training events, they keep record of victims, they lead PKing trips, they hold mini wars and tournaments, etc. The colour of the Sworn of the Axe is red. Should there be any formal clan meetings, only members of the Sworn of the Axe are allowed to wear this colour. The different titles of the Sworn of the Axe, as well as its hierarchy, are as follows:

  Primogen of War

  Warlords
  Event Keepers of the Axe
  Updaters of the Axe
  Generals

  Warlords
To become a Warlord, you must first of all meet a couple of requirements. These are as follows:
  Combat level 100 or above
  Clan Rank B or better
  Must have completed the
Assassinator quest.

Once these prerequisites are met, you can send in an application to a Primogen of War. This application must answer and contain the following:
Why would you make a good Warlord? You must not only be intelligent and a good leader, but you must also be an experienced PKer. To prove this, we might put you to some leading tests with a PKing trip or two as well as a couple of Mage Bank trips. You must also have a very good patience, because, unfortunately, you will deal with stupid kids who can't shut up when told to. When this occurs, remain calm and just do as our rules say (does he not shut up when told to the third time, kill him).
Have you hold any Sworn positions before? If so, how did you handle it? What would you say you did well and what could have been done better? And finally, why do you want to change and become a Warlord? As mentioned above, experience in PKing is necessary. You must be able to remain calm during the heat of battle. You must be able to give out commands while fighting, and you must be good at expressing yourself--quickly, yet understandably. "ery1i n2m b" is not a coherrent sentence and I don't ever want to see this as a command in the Wilderness. If people misunderstand you, you might just as well have pushed them over a cliff.

So, what does a Warlord actually do? First of all, you are in charge of looking over the Generals, making sure that they do their job. Should a General not meet his weekly quota without giving a good reason as of why, then you are to notify him of this, reminding him of his responsibilities. Should this happen two weeks in a row, then you have the right to kick him from the position and either close the coterie or assign a new General from the coterie's members (as long as one of them wants the position and meets the requirements). In the Sworn of the Axe forum, you should keep record of the different Generals, take notes of how they perform, how often they miss quotas, and how well the War Coterie as a whole is doing. You should distribute this kind of work between yourself and the other Warlords. For an example, if there are two Warlords an four Generals, you might overlook two of the Generals while the other Warlord takes the other two.

Second, you are, along with the Primogen of War, in charge of the scheduled PKing trips. In the events forum, you have the responsibility to make sure that the trip is listed as either F2P or P2P, and any last-minute changes should be given out as soon as possible via the Private forum or in-game PMs. You will also lead these trips (sharing this responsibility with the other Warlords and the Primogen of War) and handle any possible mini wars that come up. Remember that for a trip to be successful on F2P, you will need a lot of members. We count on your judgement when deciding whether or not you have enough people to take on an F2P world. And I don't want to see small groups get slaughtered over and over.

For best result when it comes to getting people for F2P trips, I suggest making a couple of topics now and then where people actually sign up for the trip. This makes it easier to plan. If you have very few people, the trip might be better off at the Mage Bank or P2P multi. If you get a lot of people, then head to F2P.

Finally, you also have a responsibility when it comes to the Event Keepers of the Axe. Make sure that events are well suited, and assist them in bigger events that require lots of leaders. Just as with the Generals, you are to make sure that they meet their quota of one combat event every two weeks. However, this responsibility is mainly the Masters of Events', but you have a duty to help them out whenever needed. If an Event Keeper of the Axe misses one quota, notify him of this. If he misses two, without a good reason as of why, then rid him of the position and, if necessary, assign a new one (this is done together with the Masters of Events).

Another, optional, job for a Warlord is to form a War Coterie. However, before doing so, you must be certain that you have time for both responsibilities. Should your role as a Warlord get worse, or should you fail to meet the quota of one PKing trip per week with your coterie, then it will either be closed down or another member of it will take the leading role in form of a General (as long as he or she wants to and meets the requirements) and you will be stripped of the position.

The people who are to look after you and make sure that you fulfil your duties are the Primogen of War. These are also the people you should turn to in case you have any questions or if you are in need of help (unless you can take it up with a fellow Warlord).

_____

  Event Keepers of the Axe
To become an Event Keeper of the Axe, you must first meet some requirements. These are as follows:
  Clank Rank D or better
4 or more FoM Quest Points

Once you've met the prerequisites, you are to send in an application to a Master of Events or a Warlord. In this, you should explain why you think you would make a good Event Keeper of the Axe. Have you perhaps organized and ran events before? Or maybe you might have had a position as another Event Keeper before? If the latter, then why do you want to change? And when it comes to the events you've held, what things did you do well and what things could you have done better? You must also be good at expressing yourself and have patience when it comes to questions and criticism. You must also confirm that you are aware of your responsibilites, and will not take it as a personal insult should you not meet these responsibilities and be taken off your position.

So, what are the duties of an Event Keeper of the Axe? Well, your main responsibility is to organize and lead PvP events. The definition of PvP events can be found on this page.

We expect you to make at least one of these events every two weeks. If you work together with another Event Keeper of the Axe, we want the two of you to give us one event every week, instead of every second. Should you at any point fail to meet this quota, a Master of Events or a Warlord will point this out to you, reminding you of your responsibilities. Should you miss two quota in a row, without giving any good reasons as of why, then the Masters of Events and Warlords will rid you of your position, and, if necessary, replace you with a new applicant.

If you know in advance that you will not be able to meet a quota, then you can ask another Event Keeper to take your place over the period. This is not a necessity, but will prove that you take your position seriously and will grant both you and the stand-in some well-earnt respect in the eyes of your overlookers.

Also note that you are ranked above Generals. In case of a war, you have priority to the so called "good times" when it comes to events. Should Generals have the entire weekend before a war blocked up with their Mage Bank trips, then you are allowed to cancel these, to give room for well-needed war practise and preparations.

As an Event Keeper of the Axe, you have the option to also sign up as a General. However, this should not be done lightly. Should your coterie ever get in the way of your duties as an Event Keeper, it will be closed down immediately, or have your General position replaced by another coterie member (as long as he or she meets the requirements and is willing to take the position, of course). The same will happen should you not perform your duties as a coterie leader. We will also not take as much notice to the previously mentioned "good reasons" as of why you haven't met a quota. If your offline schedule does not give you enough time for two positions, then you should not have two positions. Take this as a warning, and don't complain if your coterie gets closed down.

  Updaters of the Axe
First of all, to become an Updater of the Axe, you must meet a couple of requirements. These are as follows:
  Clan Rank D or better
4 or more FoM Quest Points

When the prerequisites are met, you can send in an application to a Lead Updater. In this, you must explain why you want to become an Updater of the Axe, and why you'd be good for the role. Also, if you have previously held another Sworn position, explain why you want to change. When a Lead Updater has approved the application, he or she will send you a small test to prove your abilities. Should you pass this test, the position is yours.

So, what does an Updater of the Axe actually do? Well, their responsibility is to keep record of the Sworn of the Axe's activities. In other words, you are to list the kills posted in the Updates forum. I will explain step by step how you are to do this.

First, wait for an Apprentice Updater to link the kill topic from the Total Points topic in the Updates forum. When the link is up, you can be certain that the points are calculated and all needed is the code. So, you go to the linked kill topic, and you copy the kill list. Now you open Pad's multi kill listing script.

In the script, you paste the kills and remove any spaces or empty lines (you often get an empty line at the bottom of the list--take this away). The script will then generate two lists of victims. You are then to copy both of these lists (along with the code that they generate) and paste them in a new post you are to make in the topic you're currently updating.

Once the post with the code has been made, return to the Updated Points topic and add an upper case L after the link to the page (to notify me that it has been listed).

Should you have any questions about this, you can always ask a Lead Updater in the Sworn of the Axe forum.

As with all the other positions, we expect a certain amount of effort put into the role of an Updater of the Axe. Should there ever be ten or more non-listed kill topics over a period of seven days in a row, the Lead Updaters will replace the least active Updater of the Axe with a new applicant. Should this happen two weeks in a row, but all Updaters of the Axe are considered active (updating an average of ten lists or more each per week), the Lead Updaters will hire another person to the team. In the same fashion, should there ever be so few kill updates that the average Updater get less than four lists per week to update, four weeks in a row, then the least active of them will lose his or her position (we don't need people just for the sake of taking up position space).

As an Updater of the Axe, you also have the option to become a General. However, this should be considered heavily, as the quota will be even stricter. The position of an Updater of the Axe is ranked above that of a General, so should the multiple positions result in a poor performance in either fields, it's the position of General that will be taken away, along with your coterie. For more information on this, read the last paragraph under the description for Event Keepers of the Axe.

_____

  Generals
To sign up as a General, there are some requirements you must first meet. These are as follows:
  Rank D or better
  You must have done the
Assassinator quest

If these requirements are met, you are free to sign up for position as a General in the Sworn of the Axe. A General must lead his own War Coterie, therefore, it is important that you are not only a skilled and experienced PKer, but also a good leader and that you are capable of remaining calm in stressful situations. Along with the title, you will also get a forum in which you will be the moderator. Here you can organize your coterie and keep everything up to date.

As with all other groups, there are certain duties that we expect you to perform. You will have to meet a quota of at least one PKing per week. Should this not be met, a Warlord will point this out to you, reminding you of your responsibilities. Should this happen two weeks in a row, without any good reasons as of why, then a Warlord will rid you from your position and either close the coterie or have one of its members take over the role as a General (as long as he or she wants to and meets the requirements, of course).

Apart from regular PKing trips and Mage Bank trips, you may also host events such as Castle Wars, Fight Pits, and other combat events that can help the coterie functioning as a single unit. However, note that these kind of events will not cover the weekly quota of at least one PKing trip.

Should you know in advance that you won't be able to host a trip during a week, you may point out a Commander in your coterie. The appointed member will then take your place and organize and lead that week's PKing trip. As always, the title of Commander is just a temporary one, and you'll be back in charge as soon as you return.

An exception from the quota is when you first start the coterie. You then have four weeks to get a first PKing trip, rather than one. However, should you not have one after four weeks, the Coterie will be closed and you will lose your position.

, As a General, there are two other positions that you may sign up for. These are Event Keeper of the Axe and Updater of the Axe. But note that both of them are higher ranked than General, so should you not be able to perform all duties you have signed up for, it is your position as a General that will be lost, along with your coterie. For more information about this, check the last paragraph of the information on Event Keepers of the Axe.

Your overlookers are the Warlords. If you have any questions or are in need of help or advice, these are the people to turn to. For questions, either PM them or post them in the Sworn of Malkav forum. Also note that the Event Keepers of the Axe are ranked above you. This means that if a war is approaching, the Event Keepers of the Axe have the right to, the week before the war, cancel any coterie events that may occupy a given time for the clan as a whole to practice for the coming war.

Finally, try not to schedule too many PKing trips at the same time as the Bishops plan their Skill events. Some members may be part of a Skill Coterie as well as a War Coterie, so they would not be able to attend both events if scheduled at the same time. This cannot always be avoided, but try to keep an open conversation with the Bishops over the Sworn of Malkav forums.
