Thieving Guide

*Note: In real life, thievery is frowned upon, so don’t do it.

Ok, so your starting off a complete newbi to any and all member skills, including Thieving. If this is not the case, then simple skip to the correct place in the guide.

For Thieving levels 1-4, steal from the generic men of the RS world. I don’t think you will spend more than an hour or so doing this, if you do then I advise you to stop playing RS and take up an easier hobby, like growing flubberworms. When I was at this abysmal level, I went to Falador and locked myself in the northern most room (right by the north gate) there are 2-3 man respawns in that little house.

For Thieving levels 5-19, “borrow” cakes from the cake stall in East Ardougne. There is a bank like right next to it, so once you get full just deposit the cakes, unless you are obscenely wealthy and can afford to buy a couple million worth of food certs (for several places, having a shitload of small, cheap food is very good; Legends' Guild, Lost City, both have good training spots right near banks). You really shouldn’t let me ramble on like this, otherwise we will never get through this damn guide. If you want, once you reach level 10, you could go pickpocket farmers, but I don’t know of any place with a lot of spawns, and they actually give 1 point less exp. (not to mention that cake stall is a lot easier to just sit there and soak up exp.).

For Thieving levels 20-24, head to the west a bit and do the silk stall. This one is pretty much a pain in the ass with the combination of roving guards and the damn merchant walking around, but you don’t have to be here that long.

For Thieving levels 25-31 head on over to Al Kharid (the f2p desert place) and steal from all of the warriors. Once you get to level 26, you are technically able to go steal nature runes from one of the chests in Ardougne, but from my exp., those chests have so many idiots around them that even if you had a newbi banishment spell, you still couldn’t get enough runes to justify your time. (Note from g00w: If you're fast with your fingers, and only use the right button of the mouse, this can, however, pay off. If you're the one who gets 20 nature runes in a row, then go for it.)

For Thieving levels 32-34, head into the deep Members Wilderness 'til you find the rogues (northeast), personally I would continue with warriors instead of heading out here to the death zone, except for one thing, you can get lockpicks from these guys, and you need lockpicks, if you don't already got one, then stay at warriors, otherwise go get one.

For Thieving levels 35-39, it's time to head back to Ardougne, to the fur stall to be specific, hang around here 'til u get some more levels. If you are lucky, a guard or knight will wander into the fenced in area to the east of you, be quick and run over and shut the gate, one less distraction you have to worry about, at least 'til some damn idiot newbie that should be burning in Hell comes over and lets it out (note from g00w: Haha).

For Thieving levels 40-46, head over to Edgeville, just a rub and a click to owners of charged dragonstone amulets, there is a small hut in the northeast of the place that has a lot of guards around it, if you're lucky, you might see g00w over there training.

For Thieving levels 47-58, time to get your butt back to Ardougne. Well, actually Hemmington, or whatever that town is called, near the fishing place, there is a chest there that gives a ton of exp., 150 to be exact, also gives some gold and 5 steel arrow heads, and make sure to bring your lockpicks with you, you'll need 'em. Ok, time to let you guys in on a little secret, open up 6 different RS pages, each to a different members world, now just thieve the chest, switch worlds and thieve again, keep this up 'til u get the levels you need. If you decide that you really can't cut it world hopping, at level 55 you can go thieve from knights. Best place is in Ardougne, the castle type thing with paladins in it.

For Thieving levels 59-69, ok, folks its time for all this hard work to finally pay off, you get to steal blood runes! Go to Ardougne and head to the chaos druid tower, take full armor with you, and maybe some food. Get in the tower, go down the ladder, fight your way through the ogres and steal from one of the two chests (they both have the same stuff inside). You will avoid the regular trap, but not the magic one, it will teleport you outside the tower, and to the south a bit, just walk back to the tower and thieve again, and again, and again.

For Thieving levels 70-79, time to go do some really evil work, stealing from the goodie, goodie paladins. Head to the castle thingy in Ardougne, the same place I told you had the knights, take your lockpicks too. Head to the upstairs, picklock the door, and you will find several paladin spawns in the room. There is a black scimitar spawn upstairs if you're into black things. Once you're up to level 72, you can open the paladin chest upstairs, it contains a bunch of neat stuff.

For Thieving levels 80+, well, 'bout the only left to do is go steal from heroes. You can find them wandering around the city of Ardougne. Also, gnomes are there for hi level thieves as well, but I've heard that they give you shit. I guess that’s it, have fun.

A tip for more successful thieving, when you are pickpocketing people, wear full armor + emerald amulet of protection (do not wear gauntlets, or a weapon), this will allow you to run from people, while doing as little damage as possible. Remember you can't steal from a corpse.

If y'all got any comments or criticisms about my guide feel free to tell me about them.
