Woodcutting and Fletching Guide*Note: if you want to go ahead and experiment with this in real life, however just don’t point your bows at people, and always wear safety glasses when chopping down trees. First, head over to the forest south east of Varrock, any heavily forested place works good, but I think that this place is the best for what you want to do. Take with you a sleeping bag, a knife (not a dagger), and a rune hatchet (or the highest level hatchet that you can use), start cutting down trees like you are Paul Bunyan. When your inventory is full of logs use your knife on all of them and make arrow shafts. Continue this until you reach level 10 Fletching (you need to chop about 230 trees which will get u 2,300 arrow shafts). When you reach level 10 and get a full load of logs, cut them again, but this time make longbows, then drop all of the long bows in your inventory, continue this until your Fletching is at level 25 (you need to cut about 670 long bows). Ok, after this head over to the Seers' Village (just west of the Camelot castle). There are several oak trees around here. Your Woodcutting should be at least 15 right now. Cut oak trees for oak logs and make oak longbows out of them. Once you cut them all, drop them. Continue 'til you are level 40 Fletching and level 30 Woodcutting (you will need to cut about 1,176 of them). Once you have the suggested levels, head just northwest of the bank at the Seers' Village, there are a group of willow trees back here. Cut the trees down; cut the logs, but this time just go deposit your load of cut willow longbows into the bank (give these to g00w so he can high alchemy them :P). Continue this until your Fletching is 55 and your Woodcutting is at around 60, (technically you can cut the next trees at 45, but they are a bitch to get wood from them regularly). After you get these levels head south just a little bit, you will find some maple trees (3 of them in roughly a circle shape in this town) woodcut, longbow cut, deposit, repeat. With these bows you want to add strings too (the previous bow types don’t give enough experience to warrant bothering with strings). Get strings by going to the flax fields to the south, then takes the flax to the upstairs of one of the Seers' Village buildings and use it on a spinning wheel, this will get you bow strings. Comment by g00w: A faster, but more boring way, to get bow strings is to go to Gnome Stronghold. Right under the tree platform where the bank is located (north west of the entrance), there is a flax plant. Pick a full load, climb up the ladder, deposit, climb down, pick more, and so on. Then when you have a nice amount in your bank, go to Falador East Bank, withdraw a load of flax, and go to the house by the south gate and use on the spinning wheel. After maple trees and bows there is only yew and magic wood left, however these things are abysmal to train on (unless your rich and buy log certificates). To make arrows, use a metal bar (not gold or silver) on an anvil and choose “arrow heads,” you get 10 arrow heads, then use feathers on some of the arrow shafts you made previously (this will make feathered shafts). Then use your arrow heads on the feathered shafts. As a money making skill, bows suck, go with the arrows, either steel for people training, or rune for PKers, or bronze for f2pers, skip iron, mith, and addy. Comment by g00w: The fastest way to get feathers is to buy them in the shop by the desert entrance in south Al Kharid. Just server hop and buy all feathers in stock. Some tips on fast Woodcutting XP, by g00w: From level 30-65 Woodcutting, the fastest way to gain levels is to cut down the three oak trees just west of the bank in Seers' Village. Once you've reached Woodcutting 65, go to the three willow trees behind the bank and cut. If you've got a high Fletching, don't bother picking up the oak logs. The willow logs might be worth saving for Fletching XP later. - by Jace Jn R and a few comments by g00w
