Hooray for bowling. I'm a big fan of bowling, so I like to play bowling games.
Isn't that strange,
the corralation!? Anyway, I used to play this pretty often when I was a kid . .
. though not the
greeaatest bowling game, it does a fine job. I recently got the ROM since I sold
my Genesis and games
(Dumb move) a while ago. REVYUEW TYME lrol
- Graphics: 9
The graphics are pretty cool for this game. They are sort of anime like, the
character designs.
The animations are sometimes cheesy, but that's what makes it neat. The
backgrounds are pretty busy,
but it's not much of a distraction since your actual bowling area is still and
the backgrounds are behind
your character at the upper right. Yayay. The four characters look good.
- Control: 10
Simple. It's just a matter moving your character left and right, then pressing C
to start the "Spin"
meter, then pressing C when the ball gets to the desired location on the spin
meter (Varying from
far left spin, no spin and far right spin . . . but and the degress in between)
then pressing C when the
arrow points to the desired location of the lane that you want to roll the ball
towards. The arrow
moves automatically, so you just press it when it reaches the area where you
want to throw it. Yay.
- Sound: 8
Yay. I like jazz, so the music in this game is cool . . . most of it sounds
good, but it can sometimes
get repetitious. The song that plays when you win, though, is very loud and
annoying. I almost died
the first time it played and I wasn't prepared by it's volume. Aah. Well, the
pins sound weird when
you hit them . . . almost like the sound of soda rushing into your cup from a
nozzle really fast when it's
almost full. Yeahhh. The ball rolling sound sounds scratchy . . . and sometimes
when you hit one pin
it sounds like you hit a strike. I guess it's to make you feel like you're doing
more than you actually did.
WHICH IS SWEET. THANK YOU, MENTRIX.
- Gameplay: 9
Funjoy. The pins seem to react well to the ball when you throw it (You're more
likely to get a split
if you roll the ball straight down the alley with no spin right into the head
pin). The only weird thing is
as a left handed bowler you can throw the ball towards the right side of the
alley and make it spin to the
left (Vice-verse with right handers) . . . which would be kind of awkward,
wouldn't it? . It's still
fun, I'm just a nitpicker, sort of. You can do two player vs., or face the
computer and go through various
levels, facing three bowlers a level on different alleys which are oiled
differently. It's a pretty fun time
waster, this game. (Leroy rocks! Power bowling forayvar!)
