Grand Theft Auto 4
Take 2 has now announced a new game in the popular Grand Theft Auto series. This one is called Grand Theft Auto 4, even though I personally think it should be Grand Theft Auto 5, but the forth game was called GTA: Vice City, as you probably know.
But you will have to wait for quite a while, 'cause its current release date is set to 2004.

Alone in the Dark - The Movie
Another famous game is about to take it to the theatres. This time it's Alone in the Dark, a game that has been released in a total of 20 different versions for consoles such as 3DO, DreamCast, GameBoy Color, PlayStation, PlayStation 2, and Saturn. The rights to the movie license have been bought by German Boll-Kino and is produced and directed by the same guy who's currently working SEGA's House of the Dead, Uwe Boll. The shooting of the new movie is planned to begin during the spring of 2003.

GC VS PS2, Online
SEGA is currently negotianting with Nintendo and Sony about developing SEGA Application Network Package for both GameCube and PlayStation 2. This new product will allow people to play with eachother online even if they own different consoles. What games will use this technology is so far unclear, but at least it won't come for XBox, which makes me happy, 'cause I want Microsoft to die a slow painful death.

What will happen in America and Europe is not yet certain.

Best Graphics Ever
Capcom has promised that the new, GameCube exclusive game, Resident Evil Zero (the real title says Resident Evil Ř, but I'm too lazy to use the alt-code for the Norwegian letter Ř . . . hey . . . I could just copy it. Never mind, then) will have the best graphics ever seen in a game. The graphics-team has put an extremely lot of work into details and effect such as dancing fire, water-filled glasses, swaying tablecloths, extremely detailed characters (including enemies), and more, will help this game to be the scariest in the series so far. It's up to us players (WE r00L) to see if Capcom keeps their promise.

This just in! Important Announcement!
The "Console Wars" suck! There should just be one standard system and all the companies release games on that . . . And it should also be cheap . . . I'm talking 5 bucks per game. And there should be a whole lot of really really bad games that nobody knows about until 10 years later when everyone's emulating that standard system. "Haha, anyone could make a game on this system, that's so stupid! Rex Ronan 2? What the hell!" And also, all of the games will come with more stuff, like free T shirts and bumper stickers. Not hats, though, because hats are for idiots and homosexuals. Not that there's anything wrong with hats, or idiots, or even homosexuals. I'm just stating the fact that hats are only for idiots and homosexuals, and therefore hats should not come with the games (Which still cost $5 even with the extra goodies). And that standard system would have a bunch of classic games remade to be decent new games, and you'd only have to buy one 20 dollar system and a few 5 dollar games, T shirts, coffee mugs, and LEGO sets. And they should make more 2D games. They could make some really long games, too . . . Imagine Super Mario Bros. 3 style graphics on a DVD, because SMB3 is already long as hell and it's on an NES cart.
That's why the "Console Wars" suck, I say. Now, if someone were to buy me a PS2, GC, and X-Box, my opinions might change . . . And I'd probably play the new Ninja Gaiden game all day, even if it sucks, and doesn't come with a "Ryu eats Bread" T shirt.

Game Preview: Final Fantasy X-2
In March 2003 Square's first direct FF-sequel ever will be released for PlayStation 2 in Japan. In this game you get to keep following Yuna's adventures in Spira. The graphics are updated and all the characters from FFX have got a new set of clothing. There are two quite drastic changes in this sequel. The first one is that you can control Yuna more like in a platformer. She can run, jump, climb, and more. The second one is that this is the first FF-game to which Nobuo Uematsu has not composed the music.

Game Preview: Chaos Legion
This new game from Capcom is a mix between action and strategy. The main character is Seig Wahrheit, but he's not the only one you control. Instead of moving just one person you move entire troops in battle against the evil enemies, who ,just as in so many other games, are trying to take over the world. Or at least destroy it. When going out to battle you get to choose from several different troops and monsters with different profits and disadvantages. Capcom themselves describes the game as a fantasyopera. I don't have a single clue what they mean by that. I'm not sure of when this game is to be released, but probably next year (for the PS2).

New Nintendo-consoles
Recent rumours have said that Nintendo was going the same way as SEGA, no more consoles, just games. But those rumours are now proved to be false. Nintendo's new VD, Satoru Iwata, apparently has other plans. Peter MacDougall of Nintendo of America recently announced that sequels to both GameCube and GameBoy Advance are under production. When they will be released is unknown, though.

New Fighters; Tekken 4 hitting NA shelves soon
There are more fighters coming out these days, and that's fine by me . . . most are improvements, and
I enjoy playing them all. I just need the money to get all the ones I want. I mostly stick to fighting games
that are also in arcades, because strict home play isn't that fun unless you have other friends who are good/
want to play. But there's the fun of fighting strangers, too.
Namco's fourth (Well, fifth, technically) installment of Tekken is hitting home soon. Certainly something
to watch for. It's something that I've been looking forward to, as I did with Tekken 3. I waited outside
Best Buy before it opened for that one . . . couldn't do the same for Tekken Tag Tourney since I didn't
have a PS2 at the time. But I have another chance to wait outside the store for it! Heh.
Anyway, getting to the point, Tekken 4 hits North American shelves on the 25th of September, with
8 modes. They have the usual home fighting game mode humdrum of Arcade, Survival, Versus, Team
Battle and Practice. There's also a derivitive of practice called training, which is sort of a speed training,
I hear. That's very vague. . One thing I know, no one's saying it's anything like Virtua Fighter 4's
training mode. That game has a QUALITY training mode. There is also story mode, which should be
cool. Last, there's Tekken Force. It's supposed to be updated. I hope so, the old Tekken Force wasn't
extreeeemely fun. But this should be a solid PS2 release.

Gamepreview: F-Zero GC
The first F-Zero game, that was released for the SNES, has now become a real classic. It was a huge hit and the sequels for the Nintendo 64 and GameBoy Advance are also two very successful games. So that Nintendo are releasing a new game in the series for the GameCube is not a surprise. What, on the other hand, is a surprise is that they're letting SEGA develope it. But SEGA has shown that they're capable of handling the GameCube with their game Super Monkey Ball, so the title is in good hands. At the moment it goes under the project-name F-Zero GC, but there's a big possibility that it's going to change before the release next year.

More Pokémon!
The Pokémon series have become more than just a game. It has become over-hyped. Kids are going nuts over everything that has with Pokémon to do. Even though it tends to get a bit annoying you can't hide from the fact that the Pokémon games actually are very good, and now it's time for the GameBoy Advance debut. As usual there are two different cartridges full of monsters. This time they go by names of Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire. The game includes a brand new fighting system and 100 new monsters to catch. It's going to be released in Japan November 21 and in Europe sometime during 2003.

First Women, Then Gameplay
Itagaki Tomonobu, the producer of Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball, recently said in an interview that the thing they focused on the most in the making of the game was to make the girls worth looking at. They want everyone to get pleasure out of just looking at them move around in their tiny bikinis. Whatever happened to gameplay!? If you ask me (which you're probably not), this Dead or Alive has started to get XTREMELY (lflmaofa!!11) pathetic.

Mo More Split Screen
Peter Boot's brand new invention, Multiplayer Simultaneous Viewing System is going to help you get rid of the split screen in so many games even though you're playing two player! All you need is a program, a PC, and a pair of his ZUPARRKEWL glasses. You hook up your PSX (as far as I know this only works for the PSX) with the PC so that it gets access to the program and then each of you puts on a pair of glasses. The program makes the screens stretch out across the TV-screen and then they show one at a time. First screen one, screen two, screen one, screen two, screen one, screen two, and so on. Without the glasses this is just a big annoying mess of colours, but the glasses works so that they block one of the player's screen and only makes one of them visible. This actually works, even though the framerate suffers a bit from it.
If you're interested in buying this product, just go to http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~peter.boot/ and buy it for $95.

Second Grade Graphics for Klonoa Heroes
The next game in Namco's Klonoa "series", Klonoa Heroes, has a rather unique attachement to it. One of the bosses in the game has been drawn by a Japanese second grader (he won a contest in a Japanese magazine). The original drawing has been modified by some professionals for the game, of course.
For those of you who don't know, Klonoa was a platformer released for the PSX and starred a big-eared black and white creature. It was even close to becoming the PSX's mascot for a while, but Crash kept his title for a while longer. The new game in the series is however not a platformer. It's an Action RPG but with the same character. Namco hasn't commented on any release dates yet.
