WWF Royal Rumble

1994 Acclaim - Mega Drive/Genesis

In the days of yore, you see famous Wrestling stars like Bret Heart, The Model, and Razor Ramone have become names of the past. Back when the most famous wrestlers battled people who used there real names, there was a game that I enjoyed. That was WWF Royal Rumble. it just seems to have a gleam in the way it worked in my Genesis.

Gameplay

In WWF Royal Rumble, you can choose over 10 wrestlers that range from Macho Man Randy Savage, to The Narcissist, Lex Luger. The only thing different was there finishing moves (like Crush's Head Squeeze) and there clothes. There were 5 modes to choose from, 1 player, vs., tag team, triple tag team, and Royal Rumble, which I enjoyed the most out of all of them. In any mode except Royal Rumble, you could get out of the ring, and grab chairs and hit people over the head with them, but you could get counted out. In Royal Rumble, you would be able to fight by yourself or with a friend to take on all other opponents, and you must get their life bar down to throw them out of the ring. Seriously, all you have to do was hit them al with a back suplex, get close to the ropes, and throw them out.

Graphics

Everything is clearly defined and drawn nicely, but the crowd is just a blob out heads. The ring has a FREAKISHLY LARGE WWF sign right in the middle, and you could see all body movement in the wrestlers. Climbing on top of the turnbuckles and jumping off is fun, especially when you see your opponent make a little ''poof'' when you hit.

Sound and Music

the music was good, though there was very little of it. Mostly is was the wrestlers theme songs without all the words, and only small clips of them. For the sound, you heard feeble grunt and poofs come out of the wrestlers when you hit them, and the crowd shows up when you do something special, like jump off the turnbuckle, mostly like a mild roar. After that it was just a sound of people bouncing off the mat.

Challenge

NONE TO VERY LITTLE AT ALL. Everything is so easy. In Royal Rumble, even on the very hard challenge, you could get rid of everyone out all by yourself. Just suplex, suplex, body slam, pin. Suplex, Suplex, body slam, throw out.

Replay value

Though you could easily play this for a couple of months, it will get very boring and repetitive if you play it for hours on end.

Buy or rent?

Since you can rent it anywhere any more, and you could really want a good Genesis Wrestling game, I suggest you buy it.
